Kenny Irwin became the second driver of a Texaco/Havoline car to earn rookie of the year honors. Irwin drove his first full season in 1998 for Robert Yates Racing and left the Texaco/Havoline team following the 1999 season. Irwin lost his life during a practice session at New Hampshire International Speedway in 2000. |
