It has been a really long, action packed season. This year has been especially crazy with crew chief swaps and team mergers, it will definitely make next year really interesting. Here we are with the race season ended and there are still many unanswered questions about the future of our team. Normally all deals are done by now, but it’s been such an unusual time in our sport decisions are just taking longer than normal. I am sure there will be some changes on our 42 team, but hopefully not many. We have a really good group and have been running really well lately and I think that should account for something.

I always enjoy trips out to Phoenix. The mountains and desert are very different from the state that I grew up in and it’s cool to be driving down the road and see a giant cactus out in the desert.Read all of The End of an Era: Phoenix II

I am sitting on the plane about to go back home and I am still furious and in disbelief about what happened today in the race. I hate to do the blog backwards but I am sure most of you know what happened. Read all of Leaving Texas in Disbelief
Terrible End to a Wonderful Day in Atlanta

When we arrived in Atlanta, Georgia on Thursday the weather was rather cool with rain in the forecast. A rain out of qualifying day would not surprise us because it seems to always rain in Atlanta at some point during our visit on race weekends. There was a glimmer of hope on Friday when the misty rain stopped for a while and the “Jet Dryers” got the track dry just long enough for a very short practice. We got in a few valuable laps during a couple of runs before the cold rain came again and the day was a washout. We were to once again start by points. It is really disappointing when qualifying gets rained out because we put a lot of effort into qualifying set-ups and preparing the car as light as possible. Even though Martinsville can be hard on the nerves at times, it is still one of my favorite tracks on the circuit. It is always action packed with lots of contact and hard racing. I had a lot of fun this week. Read all of Take two... Martinsville

The last couple of weeks have been super busy around the track and shop. Rumors consume our business daily, even under normal circumstances and this year has been far from normal. But we must keep working to do the best we can. I apologize for the delay the last couple of weeks on the blogs, I guess it has affected me too. Read all of Talladega and Charlotte

What an up and down weekend this was! The car was really good but the way things had been, we only wanted a solid top 15 lap to get a good starting spot for Sunday. Read all of The Highs and Lows in Kansas City
Dover - The Second Time Around

Just like the last few weeks have been, we practiced good and qualified terrible but wow what a fun race it was! The 400 laps at Dover is a very long and physical race. Although the weather was cool most of the weekend, on race day it was pretty warm in the mid 80s. We started 35th way back in the field. That always terrifies me because things happen so fast at Dover. The track is very fast and narrow. If something happens in the middle of the pack it is pure luck most of the time if you make it through an accident! Early in the race Juan passed quite a few cars like he normally does. He really drove hard and ran good most of the day. He was really good in the high groove. This race seemed to be all about momentum. Even if you were really fast and had to go low to pass a lapped car, it killed the momentum and people you were ahead of by a long way would be on your back bumper in a second!Read all of Dover - The Second Time Around
Loudon and Traffic!

We are sitting in terrible traffic leaving the race track in Loudon so I decided to go ahead and write this week’s blog. Loudon is the very worst track on the circuit for post-race traffic. Enough with that…let’s get to the race weekend. Practice was once again pretty good and we were looking forward to qualifying. But for the second week in a row qualifying was rained out. Bad weather has been following us around the last couple of weeks and we would have to start by points again.Read all of Loudon and Traffic!
