Ernie Irvan switched to the Texaco/Havoline team in the middle of the 1993 season following the death of Davey Allison. With only nine events remaining in the season, Irvan continued the winning ways of the Robert Yates Racing team capturing two victories that season. Irvan was dubbed the “Comeback Kid” after a crash at Michigan in 1994 sidelined him for most of the 1995 season. He piloted the Texaco/Havoline car for two more years and retired from the sport in 1999. |
